Travel tripod Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon
Travel tripods for photographers are usually masters of compromise and have to reconcile low weight and packing volume with the best possible stability.

A travel tripod solves three challenges
Rollei has now taken on each of these three, seemingly contradictory, requirements once again in depth: The Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon travel tripod literally turns the conventional design of tripods on its head - the four-way extendable tripod legs can be swiveled 180 degrees and allow for an amazingly small pack size length of only 33 cm. In combination with the highly stable and lightweight high-tech material carbon, the total weight of the Compact Traveler No. 1 drops below 1 kilogram, even the professional travel photographer does not need to reserve more than 980 g in his luggage. The carbon of the Rollei travel tripod is also responsible for the impressive load capacity of 8 kg, this corresponds to a dead weight/load ratio of 1/8! Thanks to the swivel capability of the tripod legs, even macro shots at ground level are possible, which would otherwise require additional equipment.

The lightweight that doesn't show its strength
The 360° panorama ball head of the Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon confidently accommodates even professional SLR bodies with super-telephoto lenses and other accessories via the standardized and Arca Swiss-compatible quick-release plate, and allows quick subject changes. Sturdy spikes with gentle end caps guarantee a firm stand on any surface, while a freely rotating hook on the center column further increases stability when you attach your camera bag or any weight to it.

Directly ready to travel and fully equipped
The tripod legs are quickly extended to the maximum height of 142 cm with the quick-release screw connection. For particularly tricky situations, the Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon travel tripod can also be used as a monopod (monopod), a separate bag is of course included with Rollei. Furthermore, you get a wide shoulder-friendly carrying strap, all the necessary tools and a bag that can also be comfortably carried as a backpack.

Tested and awarded in the category tripods
Chip magazine has already tested the compact travel tripod. The professional and independent test was conducted in the tripod category. The Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon has thus prevailed against high-priced tripod competitors with the grade GOOD. The high stability despite the very light weight was particularly praised. The only drawback was that when the center column is fully extended (second element fully extended), the stability loses a bit with higher weight and gusts of wind. The measured values showed a stability of 98% with wind and the center column retracted. With the center column fully extended and wind gusting, the measured value drops to 87%. Nevertheless, a sensational value for the 980 gram lightweight travel tripod.

The Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon is proud of the result of the total of 92 points for stability. With an overall rating of GOOD with 82.1%, the Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon also performs more than satisfactorily as a city, nature and travel tripod. It is also included in the best list of all tripods in 36th place, which is a real top performance for a travel tripod.

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
