  • Fixed focal length telephoto lens
  • breathtaking contrast
  • outstanding resolution
  • beautiful bokeh
  • suitable for full frame

These Lens have been designed to offer virtually no aberrations with incredible resolution and stunning contrast. With the longest focal length of the F1.4 Art product line lenses, the new lens combines outstanding resolution with beautiful bokeh.

This lens has been carefully designed to ensure that sharp and blurred areas are equally pleasing to the eye, making it a true "bokeh master".

The SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art prioritizes image quality to deliver the truly amazing optical performance promised by the F1.4 Art product line lenses, earning its place as the flagship lens in this product line.

To combine outstanding open aperture and medium telephoto performance with F1.4 speed, this lens contains 17 optical elements in 12 groups - an unusually large number of elements for a fixed focal length lens.

By using three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements and one aspherical lens element, the optical system minimizes longitudinal chromatic aberrations and delivers extremely high resolution while maintaining a large peripheral light volume.

The focus area is extremely sharp, while the out-of-focus area has a wonderful bokeh with very natural colors, making this lens a powerful partner in portrait photography. The optical system also minimizes sagittal coma, making this lens equally suitable for night sky photography.

The most effective way to ensure a high light yield is to maximize the diameter of the first element of the optical system. With its large filter diameter of 105mm, the SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art delivers a significantly larger volume of peripheral rays than other lenses in its class. This lens minimizes vignetting while offering beautiful bokeh, making it the ideal lens for protrait photography.

Just like our lenses in the Sports product line, the 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art is also equipped with highly effective dust and splash protection. To this end, the lens mount*, focus ring, front unit and other areas are specially sealed, allowing photographers to work in all weather conditions.

In addition, the front element of the lens is protected by a water and oil-repellent coating, which also makes cleaning easier. The particularly fast and high-precision autofocus allows photographers to react immediately and take that very special photo.

* Lenses with a SIGMA bayonet do not have a seal, as the compatible SIGMA cameras have a seal.

Instead of conventional ABS plastic, CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) is used in the exclusive lens hood - a lightweight but stable material that is used in the interior and exterior of aircraft, among other things.

The removable Arca-Swiss tripod clamp is compatible with Arca-Swiss plates and mounts and the exclusive rubber cover facilitates transport and handling of the lens when shooting hand-held.

DG lenses
SIGMA's DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital cameras with sensors up to 24x36mm format (colloquially known as full format). By using state-of-the-art coating processes, ghost images caused by reflections on the sensor surface are successfully eliminated and at the same time a balanced color balance and outstanding optical performance are achieved.
As these lenses also illuminate the analog film format 24x36mm, they can also be used on some suitable analog cameras, although we would ask you to check with us in individual cases.

HSM ultrasonic motor (Hyper Sonic Motor)
HSM lenses use a motor that is driven by ultrasonic waves. This technology offers you a very fast, precise and almost silent way of automatic focusing. Two different types of HSM ultrasonic drive are used in our lenses. One is the HSM ring motor, which is mainly used in the high-quality EX Lens. This HSM drive allows you to manually intervene in AF mode at any time. On the other hand, an HSM micromotor is primarily used in compact Lens, the so-called all-round zoom lenses. Manual intervention in AF mode is not possible here.

Hands on the new Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS S

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
